Kitchen to the Pin Golf Classic

May 20, 2013-   The weather was a small concern on  the day of our inaugural "Kitchen to the Pin" Golf Classic, but the sun came out and everyone was ready to golf!  With the help our our amazing sponsors and generous golfers,  we were able to raise $21,000 to benefit The Washington Youth Garden.   A big thank you to everyone involved, including the staff at Hampshire Greens, the energetic volunteers, the committee members and all who came out to support the event, we could not have done it without you!  To view pictures from the event, click here.

Pearl Dive’s Anniversary Party to Benefit Food & Friends

September 20, 2012: Pearl Dive Oyster Palace and Black Jack celebrated their First Birthday!  To commemorate the occasion, they threw a huge Anniversary Party to benefit Food & Friends.  Cocktails were provided by Tito's Vodka, an ice luge provided hours of entertainment, and  live music provided by Incwell & The Free Word.  And of course, no party would be complete without food!  Pearl Dive offered amazing fresh seafood and many of their signature dishes along with oysters provided by Rappahannock River Oysters and Toby Island Bay Oyster Company.  Black Restaurant Group also debuted two exclusive new oysters -- Old Black Salts and Black Pearls. Addie’s Oyster Roast 2010

November 14, 2010-  Another amazing Sunday afternoon with plenty of sunshine and a ton of oysters!  The chefs prepared oysters 4 ways: barbequed, fried, raw and roasted.  Chicken, hot dogs, seasonal sides and desserts were also on the menu for the day.  The highlight of the afternoon was the oyster eating contest, there was some fierce competition!  There was a moon bounce and face painting for the kids, and live music from Incwell & Free Word Live.  Many thanks to everyone who made the event possible, it was a huge success!  All proceeds benefited the Pediatric Diabetes Care Complex at Children's National Medical Center. Black Market’s “Pig Out” for Diabetes 2010

October 24, 2010-  It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and the crowd was ready to feast on some great food.  There were activities for all, including a silent auction, pumpkin painting for kids, an moon bounce, and of course, the pig roast competition.  The chefs battling it out  were Rick Cook, Quanta Robinson, Alex Vallcorba, Scott Drewno, Victor Albiscu, Brian Patterson, The Montrose Meat Dogs, Smokin' Swine and Dan Jablonski. Judges included Carla Hall, Bob Madigan of WTOP, Steve Hull of Bethesda Magazine, Nycci Nellis of The List are You on It, and Bonnie Benwick of The Washington Post.  After tasting some fantastic dishes, the judeges ultimately decided that Scott Drewno was Champion of the Pig.  We would like to thank all the sponsors that made this day possible and to everyone who came out in support of the event!  All proceeds benefited  the Pediatric Diabetes Care Complex at Children's National Medical Center

Addie’s Oyster Roast 2011

October 30th, 2011-  The 2nd annual Oyster Roast fell on a beautiful Sunday afternnoon.  Face painting, a costume contest and pumpkin decorating keep the kids entertained, and live music from two bands, Incwell & Free Word Live and Sean Chyun and the Deceivers kept the party going all day.  Guests enjoyed a variety of prepared oysters, a roasted pig, chicken, sweet potatoes and other seasonal sides.  It was apparent that contestants of the oyster eating contest had been training in the off season, it was quite a show to watch them down bi-valves!  All proceeds benefit the Pediatric Diabetes Care Complex at Children's National Medical CenterThanks to all the staff and sponsors of the event, we could not have done it without you, and many thanks to our guests for coming out to supprt such a great cause.  We can't wait for next year!  Click here to see photos from the event.
